Overview

Welcome back Colts to another great year here at Carroll ES! I'm Mr. Perales and once again I'm back for another fun filled year of ART! But first, a little bit about me. I'm a proud graduate of the University of Houston-Downtown. This is my 12th year teaching, but only my 2nd year in art. Before that I taught 3rd grade, but decided it was time for a change. I'm so glad to have made that change! I've always had a passion for art, mainly illustration. In my free time, I love to work and hone my craft. I sit at my desk and draw the night away, something I've done since I was a little boy. Even when I was in the core classroom, I found ways to share my knowledge of illustration with students, mainly by starting the Young Illustrators art group which was for grades 3-5. We focused on art projects such as comic illustration, video game design, and pop art.
I'm so thankful to now have the opportunity to share my love and knowledge with ALL of our students! I truly believe we can all grow as artists regardless of our skill level! Parents, to ensure a successful year, and to adhere to social distancing guidelines, we are asking students to have their own art supplies, which they will KEEP WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES. Below is a link to the list which you can purchase through Amazon or wherever you get your school supplies. In addition, we will also post our artwork on Artsonia this year! This will be a great way for us to collect art and maintain a digital portfolio. I am also posting quicklinks to our Google Class. Please click on the appropriate grade level to log in.
I look forward to working with you and your family this year, in person or virtual. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. I'm here to help you. Take care!
