Please join us for a 'Panther Tailgate' on Friday (9/19)

Please join us for a "Panther Tailgate" party tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 20) in the north parking lot of Sheldon Lake Elementary (located just east of the visitors side of Sheldon ISD Panther Stadium) from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

There will be food, entertainment (including a live DJ), campus booths, and a special designated area for the KHS Class of '99.

This event is FREE - and a special "Thank You" to the East Harris County Empowerment Council for its generous donation toward this exciting event!

Lastly, please remember to wear blue and white on Friday to support the Panthers!

Thursday's (9/19) Family Movie Night has been cancelled

Sheldon ISD regrets that Thursday's movie, "The Incredibles 2," has been cancelled because of Tropical Depression Imelda. Also, as a reminder, all Sheldon ISD after-school activities and events have been cancelled as well.
Please make plans to attend the Homecoming varsity football game - as well as the opening of our new Sheldon ISD Panther Stadium - tomorrow beginning at 7 p.m.

Tropical Depression Imelda Update

Sheldon ISD district administrators continue to monitor Tropical Depression Imelda. Local weather reports indicate that another rain band is predicted to hit throughout the Northeast Harris County area this evening, and possibly early tomorrow morning bringing heavy rainfall throughout the area.

A conference call is scheduled with the Harris County Flood Control District and local area school districts early tomorrow morning and a decision regarding school on Thursday, Sept. 19th will be made as quickly as possible after the conference call.
We will make you aware of our decision by providing you with a call out from our school notification system – as well as posting information on our district website, social media pages, and local news outlets. Please know all decisions are made in the best interest of our students and staff— as their safety and security is our top priority. Thank you, and please stay safe.

Sheldon ISD cancels school for Wednesday, Sept. 18

San Jac is open. Students should’ve received communication that they are to email instructors if they cannot make it to class. Since Sheldon ISD is closed, buses will not be provided today.

Sheldon ISD administrators have joined other area school districts in closing school today, Wednesday, Sept. 18, out of an abundance of caution for our teachers, parents, and students due to continued heavy rainfall caused by Tropical Storm Imelda.
This also includes the cancellation of all after-school activities.
Please stay safe and continue to monitor our district website, social media pages and local news channels for the most up-to-date information regarding any future decisions.

INFORMATION UPDATE - 9/17 | 5:42 P.M.

Sheldon ISD has joined other local school districts in and around the Harris County area by teaming up with the Harris County Flood Control District to make sound decisions as to whether or not have school on Wednesday due to projected heavy rainfall caused by Tropical Storm Imelda.

District administrators will take part in a phone conference at approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday. A decision will be made about the school day by 4 a.m.

We will make you aware of our decision by providing you with a call out from our school notification system – as well as posting information on our district website, social media pages, and local news outlets.

Thursday is Family Movie Night at Sheldon ISD Panther Stadium

Join us as we continue to celebrate 2019 Homecoming Week by showing the family-friendly movie, "The Incredibles 2," Thursday (9/19) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the giant video board inside Sheldon ISD Panther Stadium.

Light concessions (i.e., drinks and popcorn) will be for sale in the concession stand on the home side of the stadium.

Cost is free, but we ask that all moviegoers please enter and stay on the home side of the stadium where the concessions and restrooms will be available. Also, no one is allowed on the playing field because the varsity football players will be playing their home opener on Friday.

Sheldon ISD cancels all after-school and other activities today (9/17)

Sheldon ISD administrators have been closely monitoring the recent formation of Tropical Storm Imelda as 6-10 inches of rainfall are expected.
To err on the side of caution, all district after-school programs and activities have been cancelled this evening.
